Overview:
This allows setting up an email dropbox in SherpaDesk and configuring a Gmail alias with email forwarding to automatically create and manage tickets through incoming emails.
Steps:
Add Email Dropbox
1. Log in to Sherpadesk with valid credentials.
2. Click on the “Settings” in the horizontal menu.
3. Click on "Emails" on the configurations page.
4. Click on the "Add New" button.
5. Enter the Name and select Technician from the dropdown.
6. Click on the "Save Email Dropbox and Close" button.
The email dropbox is created and displayed on the configurations page.
Create a Gmail Alias Forwarding Email
1. Log in to the Gmail account.
2. Click on the "Add another email address" link.
3. Enter the email in the field.
4. Log in to the alias email and click on the verification link in the email.
5. The mail is added as an alias after the verification.
Add Forwarding Address
1. Click on the "Add a forwarding address" button.
2. Copy the "Create ticket email" from the Email dropbox.
3. Enter the copied email in the Forwarding address field.
4. A confirmation link will be sent to the email.
5. Click on the "Email Diagnostic Logs" button on the Configurations > Emails page.
6. Click on the "Message" in the email log.
7. Click on the verification link to confirm.
8. Enter the mail in the "Forward a copy of incoming mail" field.
9. Click on the "Create Filter" link to add the filters.
10. Select the filters and click on the "Create Filter" button.
The mails will be forwarded based on the filters applied on the forwarding mail address.
