I want to add a default field to all tickets with a dropdown to the user can indicate their department. What is the best way to to this?

    SherpaDesk provides a feature called Locations (Configuration > Accounts & Locations). Admins are able to set up their location tree and define them as departments. These locations will then be able to be selected during ticket creation.

    Another solution is to create a custom field (Configuration > Custom Field). Assigning this Custom Field to the root will make it available for all new tickets.
